Interview

Recently, on my trip to India, I visited a Non-Government Organization that organized a shelter home for street children. The son of the founders told me how his parents started helping children by providing them with education, work, food, ect. I’m amazed by the kindness of these people, and though they chose a very hard part of life but it is very meaningful. Unfortunately, for most of us, life hasn’t that much meaning while we strive for fame and fortune. I think we can all do something for a cause that is bigger than us. If we can, then we should. It’s our obligation to do it to make our lives better. Even if in the end we are just doing this for our own sake but we must come out of our little worlds, then maybe we’ll find the meaning of our lives. This is my inspiration.

เมื่อไม่นานมานี้ ขณะเดินทางในอินเดีย ฉันได้ไปเยี่ยมองค์กรพัฒนาเอกชนแห่งหนึ่งที่จัดตั้งที่พักพิงและช่วยเหลือเด็กข้างถนน ลูกชายของสามีภรรยาที่ก่อตั้งองค์กรนี้เล่าให้ฉันฟังว่าเขาเริ่มต้นช่วยเหลือเด็กข้างถนนอย่างไร พวกเขาช่วยให้เด็กมีที่พักอาศัย การศึกษา งาน และอาหารเป็นต้น ฉันตะลึงกับความเมตตาของคนเหล่านี้ และถึงแม้ว่าพวกเขาได้เลือกชีวิตที่ยาก แต่มันก็มีความหมายอย่างมาก น่าเสียดายสำหรับพวกเราส่วนใหญ่ ที่ชีวิตจะหาคุณค่าในชีวิตอะไรไม่ค่อยได้เมื่อเราพยายามแสวงหาลาภและชื่อเสียง ฉันคิดว่าเราทุกคนสามารถทำอะไรบางอย่างเพื่อสิ่งที่มากกว่าแค่ตัวเรา หากเราทำได้ก็ควรทำ มันเป็นหน้าที่ของเราที่จะทำสิ่งนี้ เพื่อให้ชีวิตเราดีขึ้น ถึงแม้ว่าท้ายสุดจะเป็นการทำเพื่อตัวเอง แต่เราก็ควรก้าวออกมาจากโลกเล็กๆของเรา ซึ่งหลังจากนั้น เราก็อาจจะเริ่มเห็นคุณค่าของการมีชีวิตอยู่ของเรา นั่นคือแรงบันดาลใจของฉัน
