The Dalai Lama on Religion and Science 2

For me, Dalai Lama is not a leader of religion, but a leader of humanity that exceeds individual beliefs. The things he speaks and his perspective are universal. For example, he once said that it’s fine if one doesn’t have a religion, because religion is a personal belief. But what’s important is that every of us must have love, compassion, and sympathy for others. This is the heart of every religion. It is the core of how human can co-exist. How are we able to solely be happy if the ones around us suffer?

Love, compassion, forgiveness and helping others that surpasses our personal prejudice are universal truth. Instead of the word ‘build up’, I would like to use the word ‘ awaken’ and ‘learn’ to develop these qualities within ourselves to resurface again. These qualities are the natural way that all humans consist since birth. They are what humans should act upon each other, despite religions, race or culture differences.
