Interview

I’m an independent curator from Japan, and doing community-based art project. There is one artist who taught me a lot. His name is Hiroshi Fuji. He taught me how art can be in the society, with people, and how it can change people’s awareness. He is doing a lot of things, for example, he created a system for exchanging toys that children don’t use or need anymore with others. The project is called Ka-eko, started in 2000 and has now expanded all over Japan. Children love it. Through this project, he got many broken toys that children don’t want anymore, which he created objects with, changing something not useful or not valuable anymore into something special for someone or the society.

ฉันเป็นภัณฑารักษ์อิสระจากญี่ปุ่น และกำลังทำเกี่ยวกับโครงการศิลปะเกี่ยวกับชุมชน มีศิลปินท่านหนึ่งซึ่งสอนฉันมากมาย ชื่อของเขา ฮิโรชิ ฟูจิ เขาสอนฉันให้เห็นว่าศิลปะจะเป็นรูปแบบไหนได้บ้างกับสังคม กับผู้คน และสามารถเปลี่ยนแปลงความตระหนักรู้ของผู้คนได้อย่างไร เขาทำอยู่หลายอย่าง ตัวอย่างเช่น เขาสร้างระบบแลกเปลี่ยนของเล่นหนึ่งขึ้นมา ซึ่งเด็ก ๆ สามารถนำของเล่นที่ไม่ใช้ หรือไม่ต้องการแล้ว มาแลกกับคนอื่น ชื่อโครงการว่า คาเอโกะ เริ่มต้นเมื่อปี 2000 ตอนนี้ โครงการนี้ได้ขยายไปทั่วญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งเด็ก ๆ ชอบกันมาก และเป็นเพราะโครงการนี้ เขาจึงได้รับของเล่นที่พังและเด็ก ๆ ไม่ต้องการแล้วมากมาย มาสร้างวัตถุชิ้นหนึ่งขึ้นมาจากของเล่นเหล่านี้ เปลี่ยนอะไรที่ไม่มีประโยชน์ไม่มีค่าแล้ว ให้เป็นอะไรบางอย่างที่พิเศษสำหรับใครบางคน หรือสำหรับสังคม
