I started to play Japanese flute shakuhachi when I entered a university. I regret to select such a difficult instrument because I could not play quite a sound of the flute at first. But I am now pleased to play since the more I practice, the sound is closer to my ideal. I know that if I am lazy again, I won’t get that sound, so I keep practicing. What I learnt from shakuhachi and the friends I made through playing the shakuhachi are precious for me. I always appreciate that instrument.

尺八

大学に入ってから何故か尺八を始めました。最初は音がなかなか出なくて辛い楽器を選んじゃったな〜と思っていました。でも、練習すればするほど自分の理想の音に近づいていくのが今では嬉しくてなりません。サボればすぐにまた音が出なくなってしまうので、必死に吹き続けています。尺八を通して学んだことや出会った人々との繋がりは私にとってかけがえのないものです。一緒に頑張ってくれている楽器にいつも感謝しています。
