It is the hanging scroll which I made with my grandfather, who was a picture framer, when he was still alive.  At that time he had poor sight. He threaded a needle with difficulty and he pinched his fingers with a needle.  I sometimes found his blood on the thread. He also could not read the scale.

掛け軸

表具師だった祖父と生前一緒に作った掛け軸です。当時祖父は目が悪く針に上手く糸が通せず指を刺してしまった祖父の血が付いていたり、定規のメモリだとか良く読み取れなかったのですが、体の感覚で全て寸法などを覚えていて僕が定規で測るよりも正確で、色々怒られながら作りました。当時伏せがちだった祖父が、この時ばかりは杖も持たないで先に歩いて近所の喫茶店に休憩に連れて行ってくれたことを覚えています。
