Emiko Monden

My artist’s name “Emiko Monden” is carved on this seal. I got this from my pupils when I finished my assistant job at the university. At that time I was concerned whether I could keep going for art or not. It gave me the courage and hope to keep on making works of art. I felt as if it told me to go ahead without hesitation.
ガラス製のハンコ
このハンコには、私の作家ネーム”モンデン エミコ”が刻まれています。大学で助手の仕事が終り、この先作品制作を続けていくことが、できるのかと不安になっていた時、学生達からこのハンコを貰いました。迷わず制作をつづけなさいといわれている気がし、もの作りを続けていく勇気と希望をもらいました。
